Resource Access Groups

The resource access groups are set up in Totalview Admin under Server settings.

There are 3 different groups:

  • All information group: People in same information group see each other’s private data

  • Public information group : People in same information group see each other’s public data

  • Switchboard group: A switchboard operator can control all the members in his switchboard group.

People that have none of the above groups in common do not see each other.

All information group

Persons in the same “All information group” have full access to each other’s details. This is the same as when Totalview is running without resource access groups.

Please note that the text of private appointments from Outlook/Notes will not be shown even if two persons are in the same “All information group”.

Public information group

When setting up the states it is possible to assign a public state to a state:

If two persons are in the same “Public information group” but not in the same “All information group” only the Public State is shown. Also the subject text is hidden.

Switchboard group

If a switchboard group is set, the switchboard and reception user will only have access to the Switchboard group they are member of. It is not enough to be in the same switchboard group to act as switchboard, the user must also have Switchboard/Reception permission to be granted login.

Switchboard will always have access to the private data.

No common group

If two persons do not have a common group they will not see each other at all.
